Trium Inc. is an environmental consulting firm founded on unique and diverse
experiences and education including environmental forensics, environmental
toxicology, environmental risk assessment, analytical chemistry, data quality
assurance, litigation support, hydro geological investigation and monitoring,
environmental site assessment, environmental risk management, remediation
engineering and project management.
Challenge: to create an environmentally responsible, professional office interior that reflects the youthful, vibrancy of the partners and allows natural daylight to filter through the space.
Trium was an exciting project that involved an expansion and move from a residential office into a corporate office. Using environmentally sensitive methods and materials such as Kirei board (reclaimed sorghum straw) we introduced a textural and functional element to create an aesthetically pleasing space.
To add to the projects sustainability, we used a demountable wall system by Teknion that included sliding glass barn doors and glass fronts on all the offices, as a result the west side perimeter windows allow lots of natural daylight into the space. Some elements were built-in, such as the coat room and kitchen area, allowing us a place to anchor the wall systems. A fun project with a dynamic Client that bought into our design concepts, even allowing us to introduce floating green ceiling panels!
